meet at BROOKRIDGE

Hello Team Families,

This first meet is a combine meet at Brookridge

8223 103rd St, Overland Park, KS 66212

Please be there no later than 5:15pm

Check in with your coach when you arrive.

Please remember to sign up for volunteer positions at least two times for each swimmer you have on the team.

Volunteer Needs for This Meet To Run

Timers (7 still needed): The meet cannot run without timers. Timers collect the swimmer’s time card before each race and use stopwatches to record times. Since this is not a home meet, another timer will typically record the official time on the card.

Card Runner (1 needed): After each race, the card runner collects all race cards from the timers and delivers them to the computer table. No actual running is required, but there is quite a bit of walking.

Miscellaneous Volunteer Opportunities

These roles can include:

  • Helping ensure swimmers remain in the team area.
  • Making sure swimmers have their event cards before reporting to the Clerk of Course.
  • Escorting swimmers ages 13 and under to the Clerk of Course when their event is called.
  • Serving as a Clerk of Course and becoming familiar with our team’s seating area.

Helpful Hints for Before the Meet

Get plenty of rest and don't spend too much time in the heat.

Pack plenty of water and healthy snacks (no glass on pool deck)

You will want a few small towels and a larger one to sit on

Sharpie Marker: please log in to swimtopia, and mark your swimmer's arm with their events prior to arrival at the swim meet. See the link below on how to mark your swimmer’s arm. Please do this before you apply sunscreen or bug spray!

Swimmers will be given their cards for swimming. Parents should keep these cards and hand them to their swimmer before the events. Do NOT go to the Clerk of the Course without your card!

If you leave the meet early, you need to let your coach know. They may want your swimmer to swim another event

We appreciate everyone’s help in making the meet run smoothly. Thank you for volunteering and supporting our swimmers!

As always, don't hesitate to reach out to myself or your coach for any questions you might have. We are here to help you, please ask!

See You At the Meet

Ps line up will be coming soon.

About Us

MoKan Swim League

We are a strong parent run swim league that includes a mix of swim teams from City Parks and Recreation departments, a golf and country club, and health and tennis club.

During the months of June and July each year, weekly dual swim meets are hosted, for 5 weeks. Tuesday night meets for kids age 10 and under and Thursday night meets for kids 11-18 years of age.

We offer multi-level time achievement milestones to recognize each swimmers progress during the season (Novice, Level II and A times).

Culminating the season, we host a championship meet where all teams compete for ribbons, trophies and “bragging rights” over a two day period. (Timed Finals)

USA swimming (1) rules and regulations apply, however the league is not registered or sanctioned by USA Swimming. We secure separate insurance coverage similar to the insurance coverage provided by USA Swimming.

WHY CHOOSE US: The MOKAN Swim League believes USA Swimming rules provide the best summer swimming development program for swimmers of all ages. Swim meets include sprint, distance, individual and relay events. Swimmers may participate in up to 5 events (3 individual and 2 relays) per meet.

(1) USA Swimming is the national governing body for swimming in the United States. USA Swimming is an affiliated member of Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA), the international federation for aquatics. USA Swimming is a member of the national governing body (NGB) of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and organizes competitions and leagues to develop swimmers up to and including the Olympic trials.
