Woodside Meet Information – Tuesday

Happy Monday!

The first meet is under our belt, and now it's on to Meet #2!

This Tuesday's meet will be at Woodside Country Club. Please note that parking can be challenging, so allow yourself extra time to arrive. There are also quite a few stairs at this facility.

Meet Information

  • Location: Woodside Country Club
  • Address: 2000 West 47th Place, Westwood, KS 66205
  • Arrival Time: 5:00–5:15 PM
  • Warm-Ups Begin: 5:30 PM
  • Meet Starts: 6:00 PM

Please Remember to Bring:

  • Sunscreen
  • Plenty of water
  • Food and snacks
  • Chairs
  • Towels (bring more than one if possible)

Before the Meet

  • Check and verify that your swimmer is signed up for the correct events.
  • Volunteer! Without parent volunteers, we cannot run swim meets successfully.
  • Each swimmer should have a parent volunteer at least two times during the season.

Uniform Reminders

  • Swimmers must wear either the team suit or a solid black suit.

Important Reminder About Swim Cards
Just like last week, each swimmer will be given their swim cards before the meet. These are the cards they hand to the runner before each race. Swimmers are responsible for keeping track of their own swim cards throughout the meet. While it can be one of the more stressful parts of competition, learning to manage their cards is an important part of the swim meet experience.

Good luck to everyone, and we'll see you Tuesday at Woodside!

Best,

Abigale

About Us

MoKan Swim League

We are a strong parent run swim league that includes a mix of swim teams from City Parks and Recreation departments, a golf and country club, and health and tennis club.

During the months of June and July each year, weekly dual swim meets are hosted, for 5 weeks. Tuesday night meets for kids age 10 and under and Thursday night meets for kids 11-18 years of age.

We offer multi-level time achievement milestones to recognize each swimmers progress during the season (Novice, Level II and A times).

Culminating the season, we host a championship meet where all teams compete for ribbons, trophies and “bragging rights” over a two day period. (Timed Finals)

USA swimming (1) rules and regulations apply, however the league is not registered or sanctioned by USA Swimming. We secure separate insurance coverage similar to the insurance coverage provided by USA Swimming.

WHY CHOOSE US: The MOKAN Swim League believes USA Swimming rules provide the best summer swimming development program for swimmers of all ages. Swim meets include sprint, distance, individual and relay events. Swimmers may participate in up to 5 events (3 individual and 2 relays) per meet.

(1) USA Swimming is the national governing body for swimming in the United States. USA Swimming is an affiliated member of Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA), the international federation for aquatics. USA Swimming is a member of the national governing body (NGB) of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and organizes competitions and leagues to develop swimmers up to and including the Olympic trials.
