Turner Meet Details for Tuesday

Dear Team,

This Tuesday, we will be at Turner. Please plan to arrive no later than 5:15 p.m. as traffic is consistently very bad. If you are coming from the south, I suggest avoiding I-35 and instead take Antioch all the way up. The address is

2211 S 55th St, Kansas City, KS 66106, USA

Once you arrive, you must sign in—this is mandatory at Turner. If you have someone who needs handicapped parking, that is available up front. Additional parking is in the back, but note there are stairs. We will be seated in a carpeted hallway next to the Clerk of Course—please bring chairs or towels to sit on, as it can get uncomfortable.

The hallway has a walking path, since Turner runs in a loop—enter from Clerk of Course and exit through the double doors at the end of the pool. Please note, there is a zero-depth pool at Turner, and we are strictly not allowed in that area.

For adults, the seating is bleacher-style, so plan accordingly. The pool deck tends to get very hot, so be prepared. We also still need volunteers—right now, I only have two timers. I need a Clerk of Course and someone to help with reading cards/competer. I’ll be handling ribbons and will be there Tuesday to help out.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you!

Best,

Abigale

About Us

MoKan Swim League

We are a strong parent run swim league that includes a mix of swim teams from City Parks and Recreation departments, a golf and country club, and health and tennis club.

During the months of June and July each year, weekly dual swim meets are hosted, for 5 weeks. Tuesday night meets for kids age 10 and under and Thursday night meets for kids 11-18 years of age.

We offer multi-level time achievement milestones to recognize each swimmers progress during the season (Novice, Level II and A times).

Culminating the season, we host a championship meet where all teams compete for ribbons, trophies and “bragging rights” over a two day period. (Timed Finals)

USA swimming (1) rules and regulations apply, however the league is not registered or sanctioned by USA Swimming. We secure separate insurance coverage similar to the insurance coverage provided by USA Swimming.

WHY CHOOSE US: The MOKAN Swim League believes USA Swimming rules provide the best summer swimming development program for swimmers of all ages. Swim meets include sprint, distance, individual and relay events. Swimmers may participate in up to 5 events (3 individual and 2 relays) per meet.

(1) USA Swimming is the national governing body for swimming in the United States. USA Swimming is an affiliated member of Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA), the international federation for aquatics. USA Swimming is a member of the national governing body (NGB) of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and organizes competitions and leagues to develop swimmers up to and including the Olympic trials.
