Important Info for Tonight’s Swim Meet - Be at Mission Pool by 5:15

Dear Team Genesis and Team Turner,

Mission Family Aquatic Center

5930 W 61st St, Mission, KS 66202

Good morning! For tonight’s swim meet, you need to be at Mission Pool no later than 5:15. Traffic can be heavy, and parking is very difficult, so please plan ahead.

We normally sit under a tree, but if it’s raining or storming when you arrive, stay in your car. The meet won’t be called until 6:00 p.m. I will send an alert at 6:30 if the meet is canceled, or you’ll hear from Coach Ann or Coach Oleg. As of now, we are still having the meet.

I’m also sending you the lineup. If we do swim at this pool, we sit under a tree, and you can hear the clerk of course well. There is stadium seating for parents, but it’s concrete, so bring towels or chairs. This is a 25-meter, 8-lane pool, and it should run quickly. Also, please bring bug spray and sunscreen, as it gets buggy there.

I’ll keep you updated, and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Best,

Abigale

About Us

MoKan Swim League

We are a strong parent run swim league that includes a mix of swim teams from City Parks and Recreation departments, a golf and country club, and health and tennis club.

During the months of June and July each year, weekly dual swim meets are hosted, for 5 weeks. Tuesday night meets for kids age 10 and under and Thursday night meets for kids 11-18 years of age.

We offer multi-level time achievement milestones to recognize each swimmers progress during the season (Novice, Level II and A times).

Culminating the season, we host a championship meet where all teams compete for ribbons, trophies and “bragging rights” over a two day period. (Timed Finals)

USA swimming (1) rules and regulations apply, however the league is not registered or sanctioned by USA Swimming. We secure separate insurance coverage similar to the insurance coverage provided by USA Swimming.

WHY CHOOSE US: The MOKAN Swim League believes USA Swimming rules provide the best summer swimming development program for swimmers of all ages. Swim meets include sprint, distance, individual and relay events. Swimmers may participate in up to 5 events (3 individual and 2 relays) per meet.

(1) USA Swimming is the national governing body for swimming in the United States. USA Swimming is an affiliated member of Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA), the international federation for aquatics. USA Swimming is a member of the national governing body (NGB) of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and organizes competitions and leagues to develop swimmers up to and including the Olympic trials.
